THE COURSE

Maps: 10km Route | Half Marathon Route | Marathon Route

The routes for the Marathon and Half Marathon take runners out to Chudleigh then back along country lanes alongside Ugbrooke Park, with the marathon runners having to do a second lap of the main course.
The 10K route takes runners along the roads of Kingsteignton.

Start, finish and routes are unchanged from recent years.
There are a number of water stations spread around the course.

SIBELCO
Sibelco UK have agreed to be our principal sponsor for the foreseeable future. This ensures that we can continue to base the event at their East Golds Works which is opposite Newton Abbot Racecourse and next to Tesco.. The start and finish will be at this site, car parking, hot and cold refreshments will be available at the race start.

RUNNING FOR CHARITY
In 2017 £16,000 was raised for charities. We hope that runners will use our 2018 event to raise money for their favourite charity and we will again be distributing part of the surplus to those charities, be they large or small. If you are unable to run for charity, you can still help by ticking the Gift Aid box on the entry form. If you do so (and provided that you are a UK taxpayer) we can claim Gift Aid from HMRC on half the amount that you pay, giving us additional income of about £2 per entry. Please help in this way.

Some feedback from our runners last year...

“Just writing to say how much I enjoyed the half marathon on Sunday. It was the first time I had done it and I was really impressed with the organisation of it. Please pass on my thanks to all the marshals and officials who were so efficient, encouraging and good humoured. I know how much work is involved both before and on the day so congratulations to you on an excellent event. I will recommend it to other runners.”

“Just wanted to say thanks for another excellent Dartmoor Vale half marathon - well organised and well marshalled by friendly people. It always helps to have a smile from a marshall while pounding up yet another hill! The food/drinks at the finish were very welcome, and good too”.

Words from our President.

The races are a major event in our calendar, we all enjoy the day, and we hope that all who participate, support your friends and family, or just watch, will do so too. Our aim is to combine a great day out with a well organised competitive event, and raise lots of money for a range of charities. We are very grateful to Sibelco for their generous support providing the site and staff free of charge, and look forward to working with them to deliver this year's races. This will be a great opportunity to raise funds for your charity, have a great day out, compete against other athletes, and challenge yourself.

Put 28th October 2018 in your diary, enter now, start your preparations and tell your friends.
I look forward to seeing you at the finish line!

John Yeo Rotary President 2018
